Viva Product Information

B+Gel, or Blasting Gel, is a patented gel used in the mining of dimensional stone, such as granite, slate, or limestone. Developed in the early 1990's by Verne Smith after years of research in the mining and blasting industry, the exact composition of the gel is a closly guarded secret. Using Viva can dramatically improve yield in quarries by stopping the formation of shot cracks and spider webbing that are the byproducts of traditional blasting methods.

B+Gel exploits a new niche in the mining supply business. Traditional blasting in dimensional stone quarries use water and sand, both of which are technologically inferior to B+Gel due to their significantly lower ability to compress the explosive shock generated by the detcord in a blasting hole.

B+Gel, B+Gel Pre-Mix, B+Gel are products that are protected by both US and foreign patents. In addition, the method of using any shock absorbent substance in order to reduce explosive shock damage when quarrying stone products is also expressly protected. Viva International, Inc. is the only authorized manufacturer and marketer of these products and techniques.
